This is the first class I took at Bicerin coffee Lab. When I came to this course, I have never had experience of drinking coffee regularly before. The reason motivates me to attend, honestly is receive the certificates so that I could find more business opportunity in the future. The SCA Diploma is made up of six modules: Introduction to Coffee, Barista Skills, Brewing, Sensory Skills, Green Coffee, and Roasting. And the SCA Introduction to Coffee is the first course I took. This one-day course addressed the content of how coffee has became to be the 2nd volume commodity worldwide as it is today, history about coffee evolving from 13th century, farming, drying, roasting, brewing, and finally consumption of it, as well as included a coffee cupping with the most correct industry standard protocols. In my options, Introduction to Coffee is an ideal module for anyone who is new to the coffee industry or just has an interest in this wonderful mystique black beverage. It’s a good start to help you understand the industry, and where you want to develop your skillsets. I believe this reputation has came about not because of the program itself, but in the way that it has been delivered.

Jingbo is an exceptional teacher. Extremely knowledgeable, cares about her students’ goals, and very patient and always willing to answer your questions. The course covers all the modules in the Coffee Skills Diploma and is very informative for someone like me who was deciding which module to pursue in the future. The lesson is structured and organised, and handouts are given to guide the learning. This is the perfect course for someone who is interested in specialty coffee but doesn’t know where to start.
